This Champagne Réserve is a deep yellow colour with old gold and slightly green highlights. The effervescence is light and regular.
The nose is open and ripe. Candied fruit (orange peel) dominates, as do pastry scents reminiscent of shortbread and a touch of ginger.
When shaken, a note of dried grass appears.
Initially fresh on the palate, the sweetness gradually develops until it dominates the finish, where orange peel takes centre stage.
Whether served as an aperitif or at the table, this cuvée is best served to a select few. The same wine can be kept as an aperitif through to a main course (veal with citrus fruit – fish puff pastry).
